R.I.P Kijuan
As a junior playing high school football, a good friend and parting senior on the team reached out to me and asked that I do him the honor of wearing his #10 jersey the following year. Delighted by his request, I took him up on the offer and together, he and I made the #10 jersey meaningful at the school.
Unfortunately, this morning I was awoken by a text informing me he had been shot and killed last night. Obviously I’m completely saddened by the news, however, I’m somewhat comforted in knowing that I was able to be blessed by this angel’s presence on earth. Big Homie, I’m truly appreciative for the great times, the mentorship, and all those defining moments we had. I know you’ll continue to bless me, you’ll just be doing it from up above now.
